Many scientists still believe that the moon is a broken part
of the earth, which became apart millions of years ago. There was another
possibility that moon was formed with same gas clouds that have created the
earth and was formed along-with the earth. Another possibility was also there
that the moon was formed outside of the solar system and when it came into the
earth’s orbit, started revolving in it due to GRAVITY. 
When some scientists landed and took back some rocks from
moon, they found that it is not made up of same elements as of earth. On other
hand they were surprised by knowing that some rocks were three and half billion
years ago but some were older 4 billion years-more older than the Earth rocks.
The moon’s soil was also of same age. It is an idea that
there may be more rocks older then even those of moon. Because of this,
scientists are not sure Yet how the moon was born or what is its real age. It
could be older than Earth!
